Moon Over Buffalo
Stage Door players' "Moon Over Buffalo" is a real winner.
A superb cast, a great set with more doors than even a Molière romp, and a totally insane script make for an evening of pure entertainment.
Director Robert Egizio has given us a cast with brilliant timing. This wonderful cast is so skilled that their tightly choreographed movements flow seamlessly.
Leading the way is Darrell Wofford who plays George, the star of the repertory company. Wofford skillfully plays the loveable buffoon.
[Kelly] Criss plays the sweet, lovable Rosalind to perfection, and [Kelly David] Carr is delightful as the nervous, bumbling Howard.
Holly Stevenson has perfected the role of the octogenarian. She's a sassy number who delivers some of the funniest lines as a result of her hearing loss and the resulting misunderstandings it brings.
Set designer Chuck Welcome cleverly created the on stage and backstage area of the Erlanger Theatre in Buffalo, and J.D. Williams' lighting design assures we pay attention to the correct area of the set.
Kudos to costume designer Jim Alford and wig designer George Deavours for outfitting the cast beautifully for their 1953 backstage look and their characters in "Cyrano "and "Private Lives."
